WARD 14 WHERE I WAS LOCATED WAS EXCELLENT AND IN ADDITION TO THE ABOVE RATINGS ALL THE STAFF HAD A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOUR

I cannot believe that this hospital is top rated. This must be a joke!If this is a top hospital then god help the rest. It can truly be described as dreadful. My dad went in with a so called UTI but really he had dementia. But nobody bothered to tell us anything and we only got a diagnosis when we complained. He was dirty, smelly and unkempt most of the time. He fell out of bed and injured himself very badly and had to have 3 operations. Not good for a 91 yr old. Finally managed to get him out end Dec 09 and into a nursing home. I'd rather stand in front of a truck than go into that place. Absolutely disgraceful

I was just sent here for a scan as an outpatient, so didn't get to see/use much of the facilities, but from what I could tell it was modern & spacious. The equipment was some of the best in the country, so I was told. It has a lovely situation, in a small town, & has the space for a large car park, but very awkward to get to if you are relying on public transport. The reception was unattended & the whole area extremely quiet, not even any other patients around, so there was no-one to 'report' my arrival to. It seemed like one big overspend to me.
