Hep C treatment- RUH has a great specialist nurse

By gray area on 02/01/2009 12:13

Started being treated for Hep C in early 2006- ongoing. The specialist Hep C nurse is the star here, consultants etc will do almost anything to avoid engaging with patients.

Treatment for secondary breast cancer

I would not advise anybody goes to this hospital for cancer treatment. Try Bristol oncology or the Royal Marsden. They speak to you like dirt "we all have to die one day was one comment" I was only 59 at the time. They cause long time delays between appointments, mix up scans, fail to give you info that you need and write things in your notes that are defammatory or erroneous. I travel a hundred miles to visit a hospital which is great. A friend who they nearly killed goes to Barcelona ( her home town). Another lady had to wait from 12th Oct til Christmas Eve for a scan to tell her if she had stomache cancer. Another lady was seen with a lump in her breast a year ago and was gowned up for the operation and was told the lump had shrunk so did not need the op. It has now returned and increased and is discharging and has now had the op put off for three times running. MY managers partner had his scan mixed with a healthy man but had oesophagal cnncer and died 3 months later. I could give more instances. the moral is that if you have cancer go to a specialist hospital not an over worked general hospital just up the road who have not got the guts to admit that they cant do the job. My rating is zero on all counts P.S i also got an infection at this hospital.
