Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, Good Specialist Nurse for Hep C, My specialist nurse at Glos Hosptal is very good and helpful. I do think some effort should be made to begin a hepc support group in GlosRoyal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Hepatitis Clinic Edinburgh RI. Not good, hep c clinic edinburgh royal infirmary. was patronised and not listened to they only interested in taking blood. no communication or straight answers.Manchester Royal Infirmary, Bad Biopsy Experience (for Hepatitis C), biopsy at MRI Manchester. Very painful, nothing explained to me as biopsy was happening, no sympathy or interest even though I was in pain and crying.Colchester General Hospital, Minimal Hep C experience in Colchester, My local hospital Colchester wont even offer treatment and have no faciclities or staff with any HCV experience.Manchester Royal Infirmary, Bad experience at MRI, My first doctor was clearly in the wrong place- headwise!Glan Clwyd District General Hospital, Poor Hep C service , No specialist HepC nurse or care whilst doing treatment. Lack of information / contact made me feel very frightened.University College Hospital, Unrealistic promises from UCH re Hep C?, As I have not actually started interferon at UCH I can't judge that treatment. However, in regard to the doctors/consultants I have seen at UCH I'm not impressed. I have been given exagerated claims about the efficacy of Interferon in my particular case. I am over 50 and my viral load is very high - 25 million. Yet one doctor told me there is a 70% chance of success. When I did research I found out that it is more like a 30 - 40% chance, (later confirmed by a different consultant) in my case. UCH could improve their services if they gave a more realistic and truthful account of the effectiveness of Interferon. Their high figures do not take into account the people who attempted interferon but withdrew from various studies/trials. They tend to use the statistic of how many people finished treatment when giving success rates. By ignoring the large amonunt of people who withdraw from the trials/studies they give a false indication of the effectiveness of the treatment. The doctors need to be more truthful with their patients.University College Hospital, Lack of joined up thinking at UCH (Hep C and HIV), I am co-infected with HIV and Hep C. My HIV consultant is at Camden PCT (Mortimer Market Centre). My Hep C consultant is based at UCH (University College Hospital). Although Camden PCT is associated with UCH, UCH, which wants to treat me with interferon does not have access to my medical records at Camden PCT which I have attended over 10 years. My experiences are not good with UCH. They want me to go on interferon yet aspects of my HIV care are unknown to them etc... They have also pressurized me to have a biopsy. So basically, I'm saying that it hasn't been a good experience at UCH at all. I have told them that I am not ready to go on interferon but they continue to pressure me. I am extremely stressed out by this, which cannot be a good thing for either illness I have.Royal Free Hospital, Hepatitis C: Nursing issue at Royal Free, I had a problem with a male nurse while being an inpatient. may be it would have help if he would have read my notes ,and be trained properly to deal with ill people and listen , he is a nurse not a consultant or surgeon and I am a patient. respect boundaries and people.being ill doesn't mean stupid.King's College Hospital, Hepatitis C at Kings - unhappy, They used to lose all my notes
